I am a writer, educator, creative collaborator & cultural theorist in rural Appalachia. My primary modes of work include facilitation, project design, research, visioning.

After a decade in college classrooms as an educator, I returned home to McDowell County, North Carolina where I tend to a small garden, walk with Quincy the Basset-shire Hound, write and teach yoga.

Most of my recent writing and research involves cultural and social systems, rural well-being, Appalachia, bluegrass festivals and regional music(s). I also spend much of my time weaving vines and roots into wreaths, pulling weeds, and sewing.
